Auto Electrician – Forklift Maintenance

About the role

The Auto Electrician will ensure that the electrical systems of forklifts and other mobile equipment are in optimal condition, supporting smooth operations across the site. This position involves routine, planned, and preventive maintenance as well as troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive and scheduled electrical maintenance on all operational forklifts.
• Carry out daily checks on forklift batteries and ensure they remain in good condition.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify electrical faults, including starter motors and alternators.
• Maintain and repair PMS, AGO and battery‑powered equipment.
• Conduct regular electrical inspections and ensure safety units are functional.
• Document work performed and generate service reports.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with good reporting skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices.
