Assistant Zonal Manager

About the role

Chowdeck is an on‑demand delivery service operating across Africa. We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical professional to act as the right hand of the Zonal Manager, ensuring smooth execution of daily operations, people support, and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support rollout of company‑wide initiatives in the zone, adapting them to local realities.
• Collect feedback from vendors, riders, and customers to refine execution strategies.
• Identify new growth opportunities, including vendor acquisition and customer retention.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring service quality and smooth delivery execution.
• Track and report operational KPIs such as orders, delivery times, CSAT, and vendor activity.
• Flag bottlenecks or risks early and propose proactive solutions.
• Supervise sub‑teams (e.g., Operations and Sales Associates) to ensure alignment and productivity.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of agents and rider coordinators.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports with key trends, insights, and recommendations.
• Take ownership of special projects such as driving growth in a new city.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, MBA or equivalent in STEM.
• Ambitious, willing to put in long hours in a high‑growth environment.
• Highly analytical and data‑driven, comfortable building insights from numbers.
• Effective communicator able to collaborate across teams and influence without authority.
• Capable of balancing strategy execution with day‑to‑day operational problem‑solving.
• Thrives in ambiguity and adapts quickly when priorities shift.
• Eager to grow into a Zonal, Regional, or Country Manager role.
