Assistant Technical Officer – Nurse/Midwife

About the role

The Assistant Technical Officer, Nurse/Midwife will provide essential nursing and midwifery services to vulnerable populations in Ngala, Borno State. Working under the Technical Officer, Health and Nutrition Services, you will ensure quality care in line with medical protocols and universal hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing and midwifery care, following doctors' prescriptions and established protocols.
• Assist female patients throughout pregnancy, childbirth and post‑delivery, providing antenatal and postnatal advice.
• Conduct patient triage, first‑aid interventions and refer emergencies to physicians.
• Support patients with feeding, personal hygiene, mobility and overall comfort.
• Participate in health education for patients and families.
• Maintain accurate patient records, admission, surveillance and follow‑up documentation.

Required profile

• Qualified Nurse or Midwife with relevant certification.
• Experience providing care in humanitarian or emergency settings is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to adhering to universal hygiene standards and infection control.
