Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to support project finance, capital expenditure, plant accounting and financial reporting. The role works closely with Finance, Engineering, Procurement and Project teams to ensure accurate financial control and timely information.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the project Capex tracker, capture and monitor all project expenditures, and provide variance analysis against approved budgets.
• Track committed costs, purchase orders, advances and actual spend across workstreams and prepare weekly finance dashboards and Capex utilization reports.
• Ensure compliance with approval limits, delegation of authority (DOA) and capitalization policies; monitor Capital Work‑in‑Progress and support asset capitalization.
• Support project closure activities, asset creation and transition from project to operations.
• Own plant accounting activities, record financial transactions, and maintain controls over inventory, fixed assets and other plant‑related finances.
• Provide accurate and timely management information and financial reporting for plant operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Qualified member of ICAN (Chartered Accountant, Nigeria).
• 5–7 years post‑qualification experience in project accounting, Capex monitoring, asset capitalization and plant accounting.
• Experience in Greenfield or Brownfield projects within manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness or industrial operations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and MIS reporting.
• SAP S/4HANA – FI, CO, MM and Asset Accounting.
