Art Director

About the role

Bmo Talent Consults is hiring a full-time Art Director in Lagos (Marina) within the advertising, media and communications industry. The role covers creative direction, brand identity, campaign design, team leadership and client collaboration, with a stated monthly salary of NGN 400,000 to 600,000.

Key responsibilities

• Develop visual concepts and creative directions for advertising campaigns, brand communications, digital marketing and promotional projects, and present them to clients and internal stakeholders
• Build and maintain brand identities and visual communication standards, including brand guidelines and design systems
• Lead the visual development of integrated campaigns across digital, print, social media and outdoor media, and supervise artwork, creatives and collateral
• Provide creative direction for photography, product shoots, campaign videos and commercials, including mood boards, storyboards and shot concepts
• Guide and mentor designers and other creative professionals, allocate tasks and manage competing priorities
• Work with the client and strategy team on briefs, presentations and revisions, and manage quality control and file preparation for print and digital publication

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Advertising, Multimedia Design or a related field; equivalent experience and a strong portfolio may also be considered
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in graphic design, art direction, advertising, branding or creative communications
• At least 2 years in a senior creative, supervisory or art direction role
• Proven experience developing visual concepts and executing creative campaigns, and leading creative projects and multidisciplinary teams

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe After Effects or other motion graphics tools, where applicable
• Figma or other collaborative design platforms
• Presentation and project management tools
• Strong understanding of typography, composition, colour theory, layout and brand design principles
• Advantage: knowledge of video production workflows, digital advertising formats, social media creatives and print production
