AI Engineer – Predictive Maintenance

About the role

MaintAfrica is looking for an AI Engineer to join its Lagos Island office. You will design, build, and optimise machine‑learning models that enable industrial teams to move from reactive to predictive maintenance. The role bridges data science, software engineering, and real‑world industrial workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Explore, clean, and preprocess sensor and maintenance log data.
• Select, train, and fine‑tune pattern‑recognition and neural‑network models for equipment‑failure forecasting.
• Integrate models into the company’s no‑code platform, ensuring scalability and reliability in production.
• Monitor model performance, implement drift detection, and maintain documentation for end‑users.
• Collaborate with product, platform, and reliability teams to align models with industrial workflows and CMMS integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, APIs, and system design.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying ML models for noisy, real‑world industrial data.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
