Africa Marketing & Communications Manager

About the role

VisionSpring is seeking an Africa Marketing & Communications Manager to develop and execute regional marketing strategies that raise awareness of affordable eyeglasses across Sub‑Saharan Africa. You will work closely with country teams in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia and Malawi to provide brand‑aligned collateral, support sales growth, and tell compelling impact stories.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing and communications plans that increase brand visibility and drive cost‑effective business growth.
• Collaborate with regional sales, program and field teams to source, shape and distribute high‑quality content for donors, partners, media and internal audiences.
• Ensure on‑brand collateral is available for partner engagements, vision‑screening camps and community events.
• Support strategic partner engagement, donor communications and co‑branded initiatives.
• Gather field stories and data, create narratives and distribute them across owned, earned and paid channels.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in B2B, partner‑oriented or donor‑facing marketing.
• Strong written and verbal English skills; proficiency in at least one major African regional language is a plus.
• Sales‑mindset with a focus on ROI and business growth.
• Excellent project‑management abilities, detail‑oriented and able to navigate cross‑functional priorities.
• Legally authorized to work permanently in Nigeria or Ghana and able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Experience with internal collaboration platforms (e.g., Outlook, project‑management tools).
