Accountant

About the role

Kenex Konsults International is seeking an Accountant to manage financial transactions and reporting for its shipping and logistics operations in Lagos. The role involves handling invoicing, reconciliations, budgeting, and supporting audit and tax activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of daily financial transactions, receipts, payments, invoices, and expenses.
• Prepare and process invoices for shipping, freight forwarding, haulage, warehousing, and other logistics services.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements, cash accounts, customer and supplier accounts, and general ledger entries.
• Monitor shipping and logistics expenses, including freight, port, customs, fuel, and warehousing costs.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, cash flow reports, and expense summaries.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in shipping, freight forwarding, haulage, transportation or logistics.
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax requirements, especially VAT and withholding tax.
• High level of integrity, accountability and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks or SAP.
