Accountant

About the role

The college is seeking a diligent Accountant to manage its financial operations within a Christian missionary boarding school environment. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting budget processes, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive financial records and perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Prepare, monitor, and adjust budgets in line with school objectives.
• Collect fees, issue receipts, and process payments efficiently.
• Produce timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Ensure tax filings and statutory compliance are completed accurately.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of experience in school finance or a similar setting.
• Strong character and willingness to work in a Christian boarding school environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and general computer applications.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as ICAN or ACCA (advantageous).
