About the role
Purple360 is seeking a motivated Accountant to join its finance team in Marina, Lagos. This entry‑level position will support the preparation of financial statements, cost accounting, and day‑to‑day accounting operations within a fast‑moving retail, fashion and FMCG environment.
Key responsibilities
- Post journal entries, maintain the general ledger and handle accruals, pre‑payments and adjustments.
- Perform bank, vendor and inter‑company reconciliations and support month‑end and year‑end close activities.
- Assist in preparing profit & loss, balance sheet, cash‑flow statements and management reports.
- Maintain standard and actual costing for raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods; analyse COGS and production variances.
- Conduct periodic physical and cycle inventory counts and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders, support customer invoicing and credit control.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, IFRS/local GAAP and internal controls; aid statutory audits and tax filings.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis as required.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Entry‑level qualification with a strong willingness to learn.
Required skills
- Knowledge of IFRS or local GAAP.
- Understanding of cost and inventory accounting principles.
