Account Officer

About the role

Eclat Human Resources is hiring an Account Officer in its Finance department, based in Gbagada, Lagos, reporting to the Managing Director. The role covers financial record keeping, budgeting, billing, payroll, tax filing and audit coordination, with a stated salary of N 100,000-120,000.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements in line with GAAP, and maintain accurate financial records such as ledgers, journals and reconciliations.
• Assist in developing budgets and financial forecasts from historical data and industry trends.
• Monitor the use of purchased goods and materials and follow up on office expenses, including paying site engineers when due.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and provide the necessary documentation.
• Handle billing activities and process payments, invoices and PFI's on time.
• Oversee payroll, including processing payments and calculating deductions.
• Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Conduct variance analysis, assess financial risks and recommend internal controls.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy and support logistics in filling orders and delivering materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Membership in a recognised professional body such as ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail, communication skills and integrity.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and budgeting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
