VAS Technical Engineer

About the role

The VAS Technical Engineer will support the configuration, testing and daily operation of Capivas value‑added services delivered via shortcodes, USSD and SMS. You will work closely with mobile network operators and platform partners to launch and optimise campaigns that reach Nigeria’s mass‑market audience.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, test and maintain VAS products across shortcode, USSD and SMS channels.
• Collaborate with MNOs and platform partners on service setup, keyword configuration and troubleshooting.
• Produce and edit short‑form videos for social, on‑device promotion and campaign channels.
• Leverage AI video and image generation tools to create concepts and assets quickly at scale.
• Develop engaging content for games, trivia and subscription services tailored to the Nigerian market.
• Adapt campaigns to the specific format requirements of each channel, from vertical social videos to low‑bandwidth on‑device creatives.
• Monitor service and campaign performance and feed insights back into product and creative development.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in telecom VAS, digital content or mobile services.
• Solid understanding of VAS delivery, shortcodes, subscription flows, USSD/SMS services and MNO campaign processes.
• Strong video editing ability with a portfolio or reel that demonstrates your work.
• Hands‑on experience with AI video and image generation tools and good judgement on their use.
• Excellent content instincts for Nigerian social media and the ability to write copy as well as edit footage.
• Self‑starter who can take a brief and deliver without constant supervision.
