Transport & Logistic Officer

About the role

The Transport & Logistic Officer will oversee the movement of feed, day‑old chicks, medication, equipment and finished products across the farm and to external partners, ensuring timely and safe delivery while maintaining bio‑security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule bulk or bagged feed deliveries from mills to farm storage bins.
• Oversee climate‑controlled transport of fragile day‑old chicks from hatcheries to brooding houses.
• Ensure vaccines, veterinary drugs and replacement parts arrive safely and on schedule.
• Plan and coordinate egg distribution to wholesalers, retailers or packing centres to avoid breakage.
• Arrange refrigerated trucks or coops for live or processed bird shipments to processing plants or live markets.
• Map efficient multi‑drop routes to reduce fuel costs and preserve product freshness.
• Inspect farm vehicles, monitor fuel consumption and schedule routine maintenance.
• Monitor stock levels of packaging materials, feed and outgoing inventory using management logs.
• Enforce strict sanitation and disinfection protocols on all transport vehicles to prevent disease spread.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• At least an OND (Ordinary National Diploma) in a related field.
