Technical Officer, Global Health Security

About the role

The Technical Officer, Global Health Security will support the EpiC Nigeria project in Bauchi and Akwa Ibom states. Working under the Senior Technical Officer, you will contribute to contact tracing, active case search, and data management for priority infectious diseases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational support for contact tracing and active case search of priority diseases in Bauchi and Akwa Ibom states.
• Gather, analyse, and share disease surveillance data with FHI 360, NCDC, state health authorities, and partner organisations.
• Coordinate surveillance activities with the State Epidemiologist and Disease Surveillance Notification Officers.
• Support capacity building and training on oxygen systems, pulse oximetry, and oxygen data management.
• Assist in the development and implementation of national Quality Assurance and Compliance guidelines for oxygen equipment.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in public health surveillance, epidemiology, or health security.
• Ability to work collaboratively with state health officials and international partners.
• Strong analytical skills for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
