Solar Technician

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team in Lagos. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar energy systems, ensuring optimal performance for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and install solar panels and systems according to site plans and schematics.
• Mount panels on rooftops, poles, or other structures using hand and power tools.
• Connect panels to the electrical system using wiring, inverters, and related equipment.
• Inspect and maintain existing solar systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with panels, inverters, or wiring, and replace faulty components.
• Conduct site visits to assess solar feasibility, shading, orientation, and structural integrity.
• Prepare reports on installation progress, maintenance activities, and system test results.
• Maintain documentation for warranties and service histories.
• Explain system functionality and basic maintenance to clients and provide post‑installation support.

Required profile

• HND or BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical and solar installations and maintenance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools for panel mounting.
• Electrical wiring and inverter configuration.
• System inspection, testing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to assess roof conditions, shading, orientation and structural integrity.
