Senior Legal Affairs Officer

About the role

A reputable private firm with a diverse portfolio of asset‑holding companies is seeking a Senior Legal Affairs Officer to provide expert legal guidance in Trust, Estate Planning and Corporate Law. The role is based in Ikoyi, Lagos and requires a high level of discretion and sound judgement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive legal counsel on trust and estate administration, corporate governance and high‑value personal and corporate legal affairs.
• Handle regulatory matters and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
• Draft, review and negotiate legal documents, contracts and agreements.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support decision‑making.
• Manage confidential matters with integrity and professionalism.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and called to the Nigerian Bar.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Company Law, corporate governance, Trusts and Estate Law.
• Master’s degree (LLM) or MBA is an advantage.
• Membership in professional bodies such as ICSAN is desirable.
• Experience in investment, finance or private wealth management is a plus.
• Experience in Intellectual Property law, content management and licensing is a plus.
