About the role
A full-time Sawmill Operator position based in Lagos, Marina, working with Lucas Mill circular sawmills. The operator cuts logs into timber, planks and boards and keeps the sawmill running safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Operate Lucas Mill circular sawmills safely and efficiently.
- Cut logs into timber, planks and boards according to required measurements.
- Assist with loading, positioning and securing logs for sawing.
- Measure and check timber sizes to ensure accuracy.
- Carry out basic cleaning and routine maintenance of the sawmill.
- Identify and report machine faults or safety issues.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating machinery and handling timber.
Required profile
- Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE).
- Technical school training is an advantage; previous sawmill experience is an advantage.
- Ability to measure timber and follow cutting instructions.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual work.
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Hardworking, safety-conscious and reliable.
