Sales Engineer – Water Pumps, Compressors & Industrial Automation

About the role

Ascentech is seeking a proactive Sales Engineer to drive the sale of water pumps, compressors and industrial automation solutions across Nigeria. You will act as the technical bridge between customers and our product portfolio, building strong relationships with construction firms, manufacturers and engineering companies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in the water‑pumps, compressors and automation sectors.
• Conduct site visits, assess technical requirements and propose suitable solutions.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate terms, follow up leads and close sales.
• Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide regular sales reports.
• Manage existing accounts to generate repeat business and upsell where appropriate.
• Track upcoming construction and industrial projects and coordinate with technical teams on product selection, pricing, delivery and after‑sales support.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and evolving customer needs.
• Achieve agreed sales targets and travel periodically to Abuja, Port Harcourt and other locations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or after‑sales service of water pumps.
• Strong knowledge of water‑pumping systems; experience with compressors or industrial automation is a plus.
• Proven B2B sales and business development track record.
• Existing contacts within construction, manufacturing, engineering or industrial firms are highly preferred.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship‑management abilities.
• Technical or engineering background is advantageous.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven and comfortable with frequent customer visits.
