Rust Open Source Contributor (Remote)

About the role

YO IT Consulting is seeking a Rust Open Source Contributor to work remotely on production‑grade code for its customers. You will join a collaborative community of developers, helping to improve and expand open‑source repositories that underpin critical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Write, review, and document production‑quality code in open‑source projects.
• Design, implement, and optimise algorithms and system components using languages such as C++, Python, Java, Go, Typescript, or Rust.
• Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and technical challenges in existing codebases.
• Collaborate with other contributors and stakeholders to ensure deliverables align with project goals and best practices.
• Maintain and enhance technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Participate in code discussions, providing constructive feedback to raise overall code quality.

Required profile

• Previous experience contributing to large‑scale, distributed codebases.
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine‑learning systems is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Strong background in rigorous code reviews and software best‑practice development.
