Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

Brit Properties Nig. Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for its construction projects in Lagos. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, managing contracts, and ensuring projects stay within budget while supporting procurement and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities for construction projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and advise management on financial risks.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, administer contracts, and negotiate variations and change orders.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets, produce cost reports, and certify contractor valuations.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
• Support procurement activities, vendor evaluations, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
• Experience in building, civil engineering or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Professional certification or membership with a recognized professional body is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation and communication abilities.
