Procurement Officer – FMCG Procurement Specialist

About the role

Our client, a leading FMCG company, is looking for a Procurement Officer to manage end‑to‑end procurement activities, supplier relationships and import processes. The role ensures timely sourcing of materials, equipment and spare parts while complying with company policies and Nigerian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare purchase requisitions, source quotations and process purchase orders through to goods receipt and payment follow‑up.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate with and onboard new suppliers, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, maintenance and stores to understand and fulfil procurement needs.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, price, delivery and service, escalating issues as required.
• Support inventory planning by tracking stock levels and coordinating timely replenishment.
• Manage import documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading, Form M, PAAR, SONCAP, NAFDAC) and liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders and shipping lines.
• Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, purchase order and customs records for audit and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3–4 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of end‑to‑end procurement processes and Nigerian import regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with procurement/ERP systems.
