Packet Core & Cloud Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert

About the role

We are seeking a Packet Core & Cloud Infrastructure Expert to design, deploy, and operate telecom packet core systems on virtualized and cloud‑native infrastructures, bridging core network expertise with cloud platform operations for 4G and 5G services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage cloud infrastructure supporting packet core systems.
• Deploy and support virtualized and cloud‑native network functions on OpenStack and Kubernetes.
• Oversee infrastructure lifecycle including installation, upgrades, patching, and scaling.
• Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster‑recovery readiness.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization.
• Lead troubleshooting across network, compute, storage, and virtualization layers.
• Drive automation through DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
• Monitor systems with industry‑standard tools and ensure security hardening and compliance.
• Collaborate with vendors, radio access, transport, and IT teams, and manage incidents and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in telecom core networks and cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency with OpenStack and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience in 24/7 production‑critical environments and large‑scale deployments.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of cellular network core architectures and signaling protocols.
• Hands‑on experience with OpenStack and Kubernetes environments.
• Strong expertise in cloud compute, storage, and networking.
• Proven troubleshooting skills across infrastructure layers.
• Expertise in high availability design and disaster recovery.
• Security hardening and compliance knowledge.
• Experience with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
