Mid-Level Java Spring Boot Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Java engineer to join Quidax’s core backend team. You will work on the services that power trading, money movement and the overall reliability of the platform for our customers across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and maintain existing Java/Spring Boot services during the first month.
• Take ownership of specific features or micro‑services and deliver end‑to‑end improvements.
• Investigate and resolve reliability issues in APIs, integrations and transaction flows.
• Increase test coverage and add observability (logging, alerts, debugging hooks).
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with the team.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of production‑grade Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Strong debugging skills and a methodical approach to tracing complex flows.
• Comfortable working with REST APIs, background jobs and database design.
• Ability to improve code incrementally without large rewrites.
• Interest in fintech, payments or crypto is a plus.
