MEAL Project Officer – Immunization (Kebbi, Nigeria)

About the role

The State MEAL Officer will design, implement and manage the monitoring and evaluation framework for routine immunization and polio eradication programmes in Kebbi state, Nigeria. Working closely with the POISED project team, state health authorities and implementing partners, the officer will ensure high‑quality data collection, analysis and reporting to drive evidence‑based decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement M&E frameworks for routine immunization and polio programmes in Kebbi state.
• Support data collection, entry, validation and analysis using DHIS2, CommCare, ODK, Kobo Toolbox and related tools.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of immunization and surveillance data to stakeholders.
• Conduct data verification and validation exercises to maintain data quality.
• Track key performance indicators for routine immunization and polio eradication campaigns.
• Conduct supportive supervision and field visits to monitor programme implementation.
• Develop data visualisation tools, dashboards and presentations for decision‑making.
• Provide technical assistance and training to field staff on monitoring tools and MEAL best practices.
• Analyse immunization and disease surveillance data to identify trends, gaps and lessons learned.
• Prepare MEAL reports, dashboards and presentations for programme management and donors.

Required profile

• Experience designing and implementing M&E frameworks for health or immunization programmes.
• Proven ability to work with state health agencies, implementing partners and humanitarian stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to track performance, ensure data quality and generate evidence‑based recommendations.
• Ability to conduct field supervision, training and capacity‑building activities.
