About the role
The Marine Superintendent will ensure that vessels operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with international and local regulations. Working closely with the ship’s Master and shore‑based teams, you will oversee daily performance, audits and continuous improvement of marine operations.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure vessels comply with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, ISO and local port authority requirements.
- Monitor day‑to‑day performance, navigation standards, cargo operations, crewing and technical condition.
- Oversee internal and external audits, inspections (PSC, Flag, Class, SIRE) and implement corrective actions.
- Plan and conduct ship visits, vetting, dry‑docking and surveys, and support emergency preparedness.
- Assist commercial teams with contract renewals, new project bids and cost‑control of maintenance and repairs.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of relevant marine experience.
- Degree in a related field.
Required skills
- Knowledge of ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC and ISO standards.
- Experience with PSC, Flag, Class and SIRE inspections.
- Proficiency in vessel operational monitoring, maintenance planning and cost efficiency.
