Logistics Associate (Temporary) – Lagos, Nigeria

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Supply and Logistics Specialist, the Logistics Associate will support the continuous provision of affordable, high-quality supplies and services for UNICEF operations in Nigeria. The role focuses on managing the flow of goods, ensuring compliance with UNICEF policies and import/export regulations, and contributing to efficient warehouse and inventory processes.

Key responsibilities

• Clearance and forwarding of incoming goods, verifying all documentation complies with export and import regulations.
• Support in-country logistics, including coordination of transport, distribution planning and liaison with the Programme Section and Procurement Services Team.
• Assist with warehouse and inventory management activities, maintaining accurate stock records.
• Prepare and submit required import regulatory documents to the appropriate agencies.
• Develop logistics commitments and allocate tasks to vendors in consultation with the supervisor.
• Monitor logistics spend and review quarterly the adequacy of outstanding commitments.
• Produce regular reports and updates on logistics activities and performance.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, supply chain or warehouse management, preferably in an international or humanitarian context.
• Familiarity with import/export procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work closely with programme and procurement teams to align logistics with distribution plans and funding sources.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
