Legal Officer

About the role

Khadasha Innovations Africa is seeking a qualified Legal Officer to support its real‑estate portfolio in Lagos. You will be responsible for ensuring all property transactions are legally sound and compliant with Nigerian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and finalise real‑estate contracts such as Deeds of Assignment, Sale Agreements, Leases, Joint Venture Agreements and Powers of Attorney.
• Oversee title perfection, land registration and coordination with state land registries.
• Conduct legal due diligence on land acquisition opportunities, including title searches and ownership history.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks in commercial transactions and structure contracts to protect company interests.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal land laws, urban planning regulations and corporate governance standards.
• Manage regulatory filings, statutory permits and maintain corporate records.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, government bodies, local authorities and external solicitors.
• Handle dispute resolution, tenancy issues and coordinate external litigation briefs when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL).
• 3–5 years post‑call experience in commercial law with a strong focus on real‑estate and property conveyancing.
• Deep knowledge of Lagos State land laws, titling procedures and registry operations.
• Proven ability in legal drafting, contract negotiation and due‑diligence execution.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking and stakeholder management skills.
