About the role

The Laboratory Technician will support chemistry practical classes by guiding students through experiments and ensuring a safe, well‑organized learning environment. The role includes maintaining the laboratory stock register, tracking student entry and exit, and managing the issue and collection of apparatus. A Master’s degree in Chemistry is required, and the position offers a remuneration package that will not be a constraint for a deserving candidate. This is an on‑site role within the university’s chemistry department.

Key responsibilities

Guide students during chemistry practical sessions, providing instructions and safety oversight.
Maintain an up‑to‑date stock register for chemicals, reagents, and laboratory equipment.
Record student entry and exit times for each lab session.
Issue laboratory apparatus to students at the start of sessions and collect them afterwards, ensuring proper storage.
