Human Resource Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Human Resource Officer to join our recruitment agency in Lagos. The role involves managing the full recruitment cycle, maintaining employee records and supporting a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes: sourcing, screening, interviewing and onboarding candidates.
• Maintain and update employee records, HR databases and personnel documentation.
• Support employee relations by addressing workplace concerns and promoting a positive environment.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures and Nigerian labour laws.
• Coordinate performance management activities such as appraisals, probation reviews and development plans.
• Assist learning and development initiatives, including training programmes and employee engagement.
• Prepare HR reports, metrics and management documentation.
• Provide payroll inputs, manage leave administration and other HR operational tasks.
• Safeguard confidentiality of employee information and perform other HR/administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in a core HR role.
• Professional certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, performance management and HR administration.
• Good understanding of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with HR management systems.
