Hotel Security Officer

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Security Officer to safeguard the premises of Teestone Hotel and Apartment in Lagos. The role involves monitoring, patrolling, and responding to incidents to ensure the safety of guests, staff, and property.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor hotel premises, entrances, exits, parking, guest areas and restricted zones.
• Conduct regular patrols to identify and report security risks.
• Control access to restricted areas and monitor movement of visitors, staff and contractors.
• Observe CCTV feeds and report suspicious activities.
• Protect guests, employees, property and assets from theft, damage or unauthorized access.
• Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, accidents and emergencies.
• Assist guests and staff during fire, evacuation, medical incidents and other emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, visitors and lost‑and‑found items.
• Enforce hotel security policies and procedures professionally.
• Report suspicious persons, activities, damaged property or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Support crowd control and maintain order during events and busy periods.
• Coordinate with management and other departments to resolve security concerns.
• Ensure proper control of keys, access cards and other security equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding guests, staff and hotel operations.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary school certificate or equivalent.
• Prior experience in hotel, hospitality, security or related field (advantageous).
• Strong observation and communication abilities.
• Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
• Physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods.
• Honest, responsible, alert and trustworthy.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and nights.
• Basic knowledge of emergency procedures and first aid (advantage).
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
