Group Head, Business Development and Strategy

About the role

The Group Head of Business Development and Strategy will lead the definition and execution of Bridgemead Advisory's corporate strategy across its steel, construction, mining and energy businesses. Reporting to the Group CEO, you will ensure that each Strategic Business Unit (SBU) aligns with the three‑year plan and delivers measurable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Group corporate strategy and three‑year plan in collaboration with the GCEO, Ex‑Co and Board.
• Build a single source of market intelligence and design commercial dashboards for Board and Ex‑Co reporting.
• Track policy, tariff, macro‑economic and FX trends and translate them into commercial implications for each SBU.
• Convene monthly business reviews with SBU leaders, analyse variances, and drive corrective actions.
• Define growth, market acquisition and penetration strategies for each SBU and support major tenders and framework agreements.
• Maintain the Group pricing framework, analyse price realization and advise on competitive positioning.
• Produce a live competitor profile and develop counter‑strategies.
• Generate a consolidated demand forecast and coordinate geographic expansion across Nigeria, West Africa and priority African markets.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience (minimum 12 years) in business development, strategy or commercial leadership.
• Proven track record of delivering growth in mining, energy or related industrial sectors.
• Strong analytical, financial modelling and commercial acumen.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, including Board members and CEOs.
