General Manager – Polypropylene Operations

About the role

The General Manager – Polypropylene Operations leads the entire polypropylene plant, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient end‑to‑end production. This senior leader is accountable for maximizing output, maintaining world‑class safety and quality, and optimizing plant performance and costs while supporting Dangote’s petrochemical growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the polypropylene plant, guaranteeing safe and reliable operations.
• Deliver production targets while upholding the highest standards of product quality, process safety and environmental compliance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, Utilities, Quality and Technical Services to achieve operational excellence.
• Optimize plant availability, throughput, yields, energy efficiency and manufacturing costs.
• Develop and execute maintenance, reliability and turnaround strategies to maximize asset integrity and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain and Logistics to align production with customer demand and business priorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in petrochemical, refining or chemical manufacturing operations.
• At least 10 years in senior operational leadership roles within a large continuous‑process environment.
• Proven experience managing polypropylene or similar processing facilities.
