Finance and Commercial Assistant

About the role

CDL is seeking a Finance and Commercial Assistant to support its project finance operations in Lagos. You will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager to ensure accurate financial tracking and timely payments.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and subcontractor payment certificates, maintaining the payment schedule.
• Manage project petty cash and small‑purchases fund, reconciling monthly records.
• Track subcontractor retention balances and payment status.
• Prepare and submit monthly cost reports to CDL's head office finance function.
• Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor with interim payment applications.
• Maintain supplier invoice records and match invoices to purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Support the Commercial Manager with contract and commercial documentation filing.
• Liaise with CDL head office finance on project banking and cash‑flow requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 3 years of finance or commercial administration experience; construction industry experience preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
