Finance & Accounts Officer

About the role

The Finance & Accounts Officer will oversee the financial operations of both the school and its on‑site pharmacy. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures accurate record‑keeping, compliance and sound financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day financial transactions, reconciliations, expense tracking and reporting for the school and pharmacy.
• Prepare and monitor annual and termly budgets, provide forecasts and variance analysis.
• Process monthly payroll for all staff, handling allowances, deductions, taxes and pension contributions.
• Ensure timely computation, payment and filing of statutory obligations such as PAYE, pension, NSITF and other taxes.
• Oversee pharmacy inventory, conduct stock‑taking, reconcile physical stock with records and manage expiries.
• Verify vendor invoices, schedule payments and maintain accurate supplier records.
• Monitor cash flow, prepare forecasts and optimise liquidity across both businesses.
• Establish financial controls, identify risks and recommend improvements for accountability.
• Produce regular management reports on revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow and budget performance.
• Collaborate with directors on business planning, cost‑saving initiatives and financial advisory.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent.
• Minimum three years (36 months) of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
• Experience handling payroll, budgeting, statutory compliance and inventory management.
