Field Operations and Merchant Verification Specialist

About the role

Barqly is seeking energetic and detail‑oriented individuals to act as the face of the platform on the ground. You will visit restaurants, verify their locations, assess operational standards, and gather the data needed to onboard them onto the Barqly Partner app.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person inspections of prospective partner restaurants, evaluating hygiene, kitchen capacity, food handling, and packaging readiness.
• Geotag restaurant entrances and confirm exact street addresses to ensure accurate delivery routing.
• Validate business legitimacy, operating hours, and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Collect up‑to‑date menu details, pricing, item descriptions, and dietary/allergen information directly from merchants.
• Capture high‑quality, well‑lit photos of menu items, signature dishes, and storefronts following brand guidelines.
• Enter verified merchant data, schedules, and assets promptly into Barqly’s onboarding database.
• Serve as the professional first point of contact, explaining Barqly’s value proposition and completing onboarding paperwork.

Required profile

• OND, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in field sales, market research, hospitality auditing, brand activation, or ground operations; experience with logistics or food‑delivery platforms is a strong asset.
• Deep familiarity with Ibadan’s geography, commercial hubs, and neighbourhood layouts.
• Comfortable using smartphones, digital mapping apps, mobile GPS tools, and data‑collection software while on the move.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with busy restaurant owners.
• High physical energy and stamina for frequent field visits.
