Female Physical Health Education (Sports) Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Female Physical Health Education (Sports) Teacher to join our dynamic school in Ikeja, Lagos. The role involves delivering engaging and rigorous Physical Education lessons across the British curriculum from IGCSE to A‑Levels, with a strong commitment to high standards in instruction and student engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality, differentiated Physical Education lessons.
• Teach across the British curriculum, including IGCSE, AS and A‑Level.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment strategies aligned with curriculum guidelines.
• Assess, record and report student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and performance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to refine curriculum materials and teaching methods.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, school events and professional development.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and well‑being.
• Uphold the school’s values, policies and code of conduct.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., TRCN) preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum five years teaching experience in Physical Education, preferably in an international school.
• Strong familiarity with the British curriculum framework (EYFS, Key Stages, IGCSE, A‑Levels).
• Proven ability to maintain high standards in instruction and student engagement.
• Excellent subject knowledge and ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Proficiency with a variety of teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
