Coating Inspector

About the role

The company seeks a senior Coating Inspector to ensure all coating works meet international standards and project specifications. You will be responsible for overseeing surface preparation, application, and testing activities on construction sites in Akwa Ibom.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect abrasive blasting, surface profile, and cleanliness according to SSPC/NACE standards.
• Verify ambient conditions (humidity, temperature, dew point) before and during coating application.
• Monitor mixing, thinning, and application of coatings (brush, spray, roller) for compliance.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness using calibrated gauges and conduct holiday, adhesion, and other tests.
• Ensure surface preparation grades (e.g., Sa 2.5, St3) meet project requirements and raise NCRs for any deviations.
• Participate in pre‑job meetings, client and third‑party inspections, and witness pull‑off adhesion and salt contamination tests.

Required profile

• B.Eng/B.Tech/HND or B.Sc in a science‑related discipline.
• Certified Coating Inspector with minimum NACE Level 2 certification.
• At least 5 years of practical coating inspection experience.

Required skills

• Coating inspection techniques and standards (SSPC/NACE).
• NACE Level 2 certification.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Excel.
• Use of calibrated gauges for film‑thickness measurement.
