Child Health and Immunization Officer – Lagos

About the role

The Child Health and Immunization Officer will support the delivery of high‑quality child health programmes in Lagos, ensuring compliance with Save the Children standards and national guidelines. Working closely with the Child Health and Immunization Specialist, the officer will contribute to programme design, implementation, and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to maintain programme quality and compliance with country and SCI standards.
• Identify expertise gaps and coordinate technical assistance from in‑country and UK advisers or external consultants.
• Assist in developing annual plans, budgets, and high‑quality programming documents.
• Formulate key program questions, support targeted evaluations, and coordinate operational and analytical research.
• Facilitate capacity‑building activities for health‑facility workers.
• Represent the programme in stakeholder forums at LGA and community levels and build partnerships with community organisations, traditional and religious leaders.
• Collaborate with the Advocacy team on advocacy activities targeting decision‑makers.
• Document and disseminate learning, evidence, and research findings at LGA and community levels.
• Support safeguarding risk assessments, flag concerns, and ensure beneficiaries receive information on safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated technical expertise in child health and immunisation programmes.
• Experience in programme quality assurance, budgeting, and reporting.
• Proven ability to build capacity of health‑facility staff and engage community stakeholders.
• Familiarity with safeguarding principles and risk‑assessment processes.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills for research and learning dissemination.
