Business & Technology Reporter

About the role

BusinessCabal is a digital media publication covering business, technology and finance, serving professionals, entrepreneurs and industry leaders. It is looking for a Business & Technology Reporter to cover daily news and deep-dive features, investigating industry shifts, interviewing founders and explaining complex financial or technological trends in accessible stories. The role is fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Pitch, research and write daily news stories and weekly long-form features on startups, enterprise tech, digital finance and market trends.
• Cultivate a network of industry contacts and interview executives, entrepreneurs and policymakers.
• Follow editorial guidelines so that all reporting is factual, unbiased and transparently sourced.
• Monitor industry reports, press releases and global market shifts to spot emerging stories early.
• Work with the Managing Editor on story angles and with the growth team to optimise headlines for digital distribution and syndication.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a reporter, staff writer or journalist covering business, technology, finance or startups.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of published clips showing ability to handle complex topics.
• Understanding of the digital media landscape and journalistic ethics.
• Ability to work autonomously remotely, turning around breaking news quickly while managing longer investigations.

Required skills

• Familiarity with WordPress and basic digital publishing workflows.
