Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive growth for Primote Africa’s FMCG distribution portfolio across Lagos. You will identify new commercial customers, manage existing accounts and collaborate with marketing to increase market penetration.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target potential customers such as restaurants, hotels, bakeries, offices and other commercial establishments.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects, conduct outreach by phone and in‑person, and convert leads into paying customers.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing within approved limits and follow up on leads and orders.
• Research new market segments, monitor competitors and propose strategies to expand the customer base.
• Support marketing activities, create promotional materials and represent the company at trade events.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities and performance metrics.

Required profile

• HND or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in business development, sales or FMCG distribution, preferably selling to restaurants, hotels or similar commercial clients.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Good knowledge of the Lagos business market and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with basic CRM or sales reporting tools.
