Business Development Lead

About the role

Ark Insurance Group is setting up a new Business Development Unit to grow its insurance, healthcare and TPA portfolio. It is looking for an experienced, commercially astute Business Development Lead to build and lead the function from the ground up. The role suits a strategic business development professional who has won and grown large corporate accounts, built high-performing teams and created the structures and processes behind sustainable revenue growth. The position is full-time and hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Build and establish the Group's Business Development function, including operating model, sales processes and reporting structures.
• Develop and execute business development strategies, sales plans and market growth initiatives.
• Lead the acquisition and retention of major corporate, multinational and institutional accounts.
• Coach, manage and develop a growing business development team.
• Build strategic partnerships with brokers, consultants and employer groups.
• Work with internal stakeholders on pricing, proposals, service delivery and commercial strategy.
• Drive pipeline visibility, forecasting and performance reporting through effective CRM management.
• Turn market trends and customer insights into actionable growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; MBA or professional insurance qualification is an advantage.
• At least 10 years of experience in business development or B2B sales.
• Proven success closing and managing large corporate accounts.
• Experience in insurance, healthcare, HMO, TPA, financial services or related sectors is an advantage.
