Zone Construction Manager

About the role

The Zone Construction Manager will oversee all construction activities within a designated residential zone in Lagos. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will ensure daily progress, quality, safety, and coordination of multiple subcontractors across several building blocks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day construction activities for the assigned residential zone.
• Monitor the look‑ahead programme and flag any risk of delay immediately.
• Coordinate subcontract trade gangs, sequence trades to avoid clashes and maximise productivity.
• Attend daily site coordination meetings and represent the zone’s status, issues, and requests.
• Produce and submit daily progress reports for the zone.
• Enforce quality standards and support Site Engineers and Quality Control Inspectors at inspection hold points.
• Implement site safety standards per the HSE Plan and report incidents.
• Manage temporary works such as scaffolding, hoarding, access, and welfare facilities.
• Collaborate with Site Engineers on structural sequencing and resolve design queries.
• Work with parallel Zone Construction Managers to align sequencing and maintain consistent standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 8 years of construction experience, including multi‑building residential projects in Lagos.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, flat‑slab systems, blockwork, and general building works.
• Proven ability to manage large teams across concurrent structures.
• COREN registration or NIOB membership is advantageous.
