Tailor – Corsetry & Bespoke Garment Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Tailor with a strong focus on corsetry and bespoke garment making to join our creative team. The role involves crafting high‑quality corsets, bridal wear, and custom pieces for discerning clients in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Cut, join, and sew corsets, corset dresses, and tops, inserting boning, busks, eyelets, and zippers.
• Shape bodices for perfect waist cinching and perform fitting alterations.
• Take measurements, interpret client briefs and designer sketches, and construct bespoke gowns and two‑piece sets.
• Handle advanced sewing techniques such as darts, pleats, padding, lining, and hand‑finishing.
• Maintain consistency in stitching, tension, and finishing while meeting production deadlines.
• Maintain sewing machines, tools, and a clean workspace; report fabric shortages or equipment issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a tailor or joiner with proven corset and bespoke work.
• Portfolio demonstrating corsetry expertise.
• Strong pattern interpretation and adjustment abilities.
• Creative eye, patience, and pride in fine details.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industrial straight‑stitch machines.
• Experience using overlockers.
• Advanced hand‑sewing techniques.
