Steel Detailing Engineer / Tekla Specialist (PEB & Structural Steel)

About the role

The client seeks an experienced Steel Detailing Engineer / Tekla Specialist to join their Engineering Department in Lagos. You will transform engineering designs into accurate, fabrication‑ready and erection‑ready models and drawings for Pre‑Engineered Buildings, structural steel, and miscellaneous steel projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D models using Tekla Structures and prepare shop, assembly, single‑part, and erection drawings.
• Detail primary and secondary steel, bracing systems, mezzanines, staircases, handrails, platforms and other steel items.
• Generate Bills of Materials, Material Take‑Offs and NC/CNC files, ensuring full coordination of all components before release.
• Coordinate with design engineers, production, procurement, project management and site teams, reviewing constructability, fabrication efficiency, transportation and erection requirements.
• Maintain drawing revisions, document control and ensure compliance with project specifications, company standards and international codes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of steel detailing experience, especially with PEB and structural steel projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures and good command of AutoCAD.
