Senior Resident Doctor / Senior Registrar – Oncology & Haematology

About the role

The African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja is seeking a Senior Resident Doctor/Senior Registrar to provide specialist care for patients with cancer and blood disorders. Working under senior consultants, you will diagnose, treat and mentor junior staff while advancing your own clinical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for oncology and haematology patients.
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and supportive care.
• Manage oncological and haematological emergencies such as tumour lysis syndrome and neutropenic sepsis.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, patient rounds and clinical audits.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options and preventive care.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MBChB) and completed residency program.
• Valid medical licence and registration in Nigeria.
• Minimum 4 years clinical experience in oncology/haematology, including chemotherapy administration.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., Nigerian Cancer Society) is preferred.
