Senior Programme Associate (G-7) – Temporary (364 days)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Programme Associate (G‑7) on a 364‑day temporary appointment to support programme delivery in Abuja, Nigeria. Reporting to the Section Chief, you will ensure that programme activities are technically robust, financially sound, and fully compliant with UNICEF policies and donor agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead programme planning and coordination across the project cycle.
• Monitor and report on programme performance, flagging risks and recommending corrective actions.
• Manage data and knowledge to support evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Oversee financial and grant management, ensuring compliance with budgets and donor requirements.
• Coordinate partnerships with civil‑society organisations and implement partnership agreements.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the programme team.
• Ensure quality assurance and drive innovation in programme delivery.
• Support learning and capacity‑development initiatives for staff and partners.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in administration, programme support, supply chain or partnership management.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language or a local language is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to apply rules, exercise sound judgement and work in fragile or humanitarian settings.

Required skills

• Strong MS Office skills.
