Procurement Assistant

About the role

The Procurement Assistant will support the Procurement Manager in managing purchase orders, supplier communications, and delivery logistics for construction projects in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the procurement register, updating delivery dates, vessel ETAs, and on‑site arrival confirmations daily.
• Process purchase orders, supplier confirmations, and delivery instructions under the direction of the Procurement Manager.
• Maintain supplier and vendor contact files and handle routine vendor correspondence.
• Track import shipments, monitor vessel tracking, liaise with clearing agents, and alert the manager to clearance issues.
• Match delivery notes to purchase orders, flag discrepancies, and keep delivery records for the quantity surveying team.
• Coordinate with the Site Logistics Coordinator on expected delivery dates and on‑site reception arrangements.
• Assist in preparing tender packages for goods and materials.
• Maintain petty cash and small purchase records for site procurement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of procurement or logistics coordination experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with procurement management software.
