Nutrition OTP Nurse – Community Outreach

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Nutrition OTP Nurse to support community‑based nutrition programs in hard‑to‑reach areas of Borno State, Nigeria. The role combines clinical nutrition care with program management, training, and coordination with health facilities and government partners.

Key responsibilities

• Implement CMAM, MIYCN, and SFP activities in MMC, Jere, Magumeri, and Konduga.
• Develop work plans with health facility staff and coordinate outreach with Ministry of Health teams.
• Train and supervise Community Health Volunteers, MTMSG, and MTMC on routine MUAC screening and SAM case identification.
• Screen and refer SAM children at OTP sites, ensure admission, discharge, and transfer criteria are met.
• Conduct active case finding, defaulter tracing, and MAMA MUAC activities at community level.
• Monitor program compliance with IRC policies, review data forms for accuracy, and ensure adequate medical and therapeutic supplies.
• Provide feedback to the Nutrition Manager on supply quality and quantity.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or equivalent with experience in therapeutic nutrition.
• Familiarity with CMAM, OTP, and community‑based nutrition protocols.
• Ability to work in insecure, remote settings and collaborate with government and NGO partners.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.
