About the role
The HSE Officer will lead health, safety and environmental initiatives on our construction sites in Lagos. You will work closely with project teams to embed a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments and develop Safe Systems of Work for technical and hazardous activities.
- Manage permit‑to‑work systems for high‑risk tasks such as electrical isolation, work at height, confined spaces and hot works.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety campaigns and visible engagement with on‑site personnel to promote a strong safety culture.
- Support emergency preparedness planning, including fire, evacuation and critical incident response drills.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution.
- 3‑5 years of progressive experience as an HSE Officer or in a similar role.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH and ISO are a significant advantage.
Required skills
- Risk assessment and mitigation.
- Permit‑to‑work administration.
- Emergency response planning.
