Head of Human Resources

About the role

The Head of Human Resources will act as the enterprise‑wide HR leader for a fast‑moving consumer goods and retail distribution company in Nigeria. Reporting to senior executive leadership, you will shape people strategy, drive culture transformation and ensure workforce effectiveness across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR leadership across all business divisions, ensuring consistent delivery.
• Lead and mentor Divisional HR Managers.
• Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Drive organisational culture initiatives that boost performance and engagement.
• Oversee performance management frameworks and employee‑relations strategy.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Implement scalable HR systems, policies and operational frameworks.
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning and talent strategy.
• Lead change‑management initiatives across the organisation.
• Strengthen leadership capability within business units.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record managing large or multi‑location HR teams, preferably in retail or high‑volume sectors.
• Demonstrated success in culture transformation, performance management and employee relations.
• Hands‑on leader capable of balancing strategic vision with execution.
